With a B.S. degree in Fashion Design & Merchandising and a M.A. in Communication with a focus on social media marketing and visual aesthetics, Markus brings a thoughtful, curated lens to the way he explores style and storytelling. His work celebrates the uncommon — the small, meaningful details that make a place or a moment feel unforgettable.

The Name
The name uncommon escapes was born from a simple, quiet craving — the need to step away from the noise of everyday life and discover spaces, stories, and moments that feel a little less ordinary. What began as a weekend writing hobby, a personal space to gather thoughts and document small joys, has since evolved into a visual journal celebrating the uncommon.
For me, these escapes aren’t always grand vacations or faraway destinations. Often, they’re found in the everyday: a cup of matcha latte savored in solitude, a vintage find at a weekend market, a sunset drive down an unfamiliar road, or a conversation with a local creative that lingers long after it ends. It’s about finding beauty in the overlooked, the quietly meaningful, and the stories that don’t always get told.
